About

The Indiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Indiana Academy or IAND) is a Non-Profit Association made up of more than 1100 diverse and inclusive dietetic professionals, including Registered Dietitians (RD), Dietetic Technicians Registered (DTR), and Dietetic Students.

The Indiana Academy is an affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and has been serving citizens of Indiana since 1923.

IAND members represent all areas of nutrition services including those at hospitals, school food services, public health, long-term care facilities, education, research, private practice, pharmaceutical companies and special needs.

Membership in IAND is open to those who meet academic/experience requirements, and are members of theĀ Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Membership

IAND membership totals approximately 1,300 food and nutrition professionals. The majority are active members whose careers span 20 different areas of practice in Indiana. About 20% of our members are students who are studying at one of the six ACEND accredited education programs across the state to become Registered Dietitians or Dietetic Technicians. Many members have enjoyed a career in Dietetics, have retired, and remain members to continue the tradition of life-long learning.

Programs and Services

To promote sound nutrition information for the public, the Association sponsors
publications, educational events, and health fairs.

Indiana Academy lobbies for state legislation such as bills that will contribute
to the nutritional well-being of the public.
