The Indiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (IAND) is seeking students to join our network of volunteers! Your voice is important as the next generation of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. If you’re looking for an opportunity to network with working dietitians, add to your resume and most importantly, share your gifts and experiences with others- this may be for you!
We would like to appoint 2 student liaison volunteers to each of the following initiative teams on our Board of Directors:
- Public Policy – Learn how legislative policy impacts your work as a future nutrition professional. Activities may include events, surveys/data collection, support for membership continuing education, etc.
- Digital Communications – Communicate nutrition messages in a fun, authentic and engaging way by creating posts for the IAND social media accounts.
- Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access (IDEA) – Concerned about racial and ethnic diversity in our profession? How inclusive we are of all people and our ability to connect with the public? Assist the IDEA committee with events, data collection, support for membership continuing education, etc.
Requirements: Must be a student member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Students with at least 2 years of school remaining are preferred, but all are welcome to apply.
Time commitment: Students will be asked to participate in planning and implementation of team strategic goals for the IAND Board of Directors (June to May). Volunteer hours may be completed remotely and may vary based on student ability and team needs, but time investment could be 1-4 hours per month. Attendance at the quarterly IAND Board of Directors meetings is encouraged but not required.
